The context:
Objective is a key provider of investment analysis, offering comprehensive support for professionals active in private markets. The firm provides thorough and unbiased analysis for all types of private asset funds through risk management, fund monitoring, market research, annual reporting, and investment trend analysis services — catering to a diverse range of clients across the globe: family offices, institutional investors, leading funds, and high-net-worth individuals.
We spoke to Boaz Warshavsky, the firm’s founder and CEO, who leads a team of experienced analysts performing qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as ongoing monitoring, throughout the entire investment cycle. Boaz also leads Objective’s risk management business, in addition to the various other services the firm offers clients — like market research and data analytics on periodic topics.
“We prioritize being unbiased and aim to present the clients with a complete depiction of all relevant data. We do not provide an investment recommendation — that decision is left to the investors,” Boaz said. “We analyze both local and foreign funds, and specialize in the field of non-tradable assets.”
Objective offers institutional investors outsourced fund analysis that streamlines the assessment process — empowering them to review several investments simultaneously and select the ones best suited for their portfolios.
Preqin data helps us identify trends and benchmark performance, and it’s our go-to source for information on private markets.

The challenge:
Market turbulence in recent years has given rise to new interest in unlisted asset allocations, with traditional investors seeking to further diversify portfolios and reduce risk. However, allocators have found it difficult to obtain unbiased information about private market investment funds. Objective leveraged Preqin data to fill this gap and business expanded exponentially after implementation.
“We strive to always be there for our clients, even in challenging times,” Boaz told us. “The conflict in the region has created a lot of uncertainty in the market. While tradable assets have been adversely affected, non-tradable assets have been impacted to a lesser extent. Local investors turned to us to better understand their investment options, in pursuit of diversifying their portfolios.”
“We analyze a wide range of private asset funds and need the necessary tools and information to compare various funds from the same vintage year. Before we discovered Preqin, it was challenging to acquire comparative data on yield, overall performance, or investment strategies,” Boaz continued.
Objective needed a tool to systematically verify and compare key fund metrics and trends across a wide variety of unlisted asset funds in private equity, venture capital, real estate, private debt, and infrastructure. Analysts working with Boaz and the Objective team also needed a way to stay updated on new developments.
We rely on Preqin data and insights when performing preliminary research in preparation for new projects, yield analysis, and market research.

The solution:
Today, Objective relies primarily on the Preqin Pro platform and Preqin Insights+ for critical information to support clients. Using Preqin Pro, Objective analysts regularly update data on their target list of core funds and conduct essential performance analysis for benchmarking purposes. Key information from Preqin Insights+ research reports helps Objective to tap into trends in the industry or collect targeted fund details.
Leveraging Preqin data and analytics has enabled Objective to become a trusted provider of investment analysis globally. As Boaz told us, “Investors came to us looking for answers on ways to diversify their portfolio, learn about additional asset classes, or to hedge their investments against fluctuations in the stock exchange.”
We leverage Preqin data to better understand private assets, to perform market research, and to compare investment strategies and sub-strategies.

The results:
When asked which aspects of Preqin data, tools, or insights Objective uses the most, Boaz answered “We use specific fund information, as well as data on fund performance — such as comparable funds from the same strategy and vintage. We also use Preqin Insights+ and market updates — these assist us in performing our market research, or understanding global investment trends, which we then incorporate into our quarterly reports on institutional investors.”
We help allocators obtain deep insights into their target investments, and Preqin is at the heart of this process.
