A round-up of last week’s people moves at LPs and GPs around the world

LPs

  • Border to Coast, a pool of local government pension schemes in the UK, has appointed Tim Manuel as Head of Responsible Investment. He joins after 18 years at professional services firm Aon, including six as Head of Responsible Investment. Leeds-based Border to Coast manages £52bn of assets on behalf of 11 partner schemes, with a 32.7% allocation to alternatives. Border to Coast also announced the appointments of Austin Bodunrin as Chief Risk Officer and Louise Bryan as Chief People Officer.

  • Joseph Jawad has joined wealth manager GSB Private as Senior Partner in the Dubai office. Jawad joins from Schroders Switzerland, where he served wealthy families from the GCC and led the bank's coverage of Middle Eastern wealth managers and financial institutions.

  • Iceland’s state employees pension fund LSR has appointed Heiðrún Hödd Jónsdóttir as its first Sustainability Expert. She will lead the implementation of the fund’s sustainability strategy for investments and internal operations. Jónsdóttir joins the ISK 1.3tn ($9.4bn) AUM fund from Deloitte in Denmark, where she worked on consulting, risk analysis, and reporting related to corporate sustainability.

  • Sangeeth Sewnath has been appointed as Managing Director, Americas, at Ninety One. He will be based in New York and oversee all institutional and advisor-client engagement as the £128.6bn ($168.5bn) asset manager expands its investment, client group, and operational business in the Americas.

  • Rathbones Group, a London-based wealth manager with £108.9bn ($142.6bn) funds under management and administration, has appointed Simonetta Rigo as Chief Client Officer, subject to regulatory approval. Last year Rathbones completed the acquisition of Investec Wealth & Investment.

  • RBC BlueBay Asset Management has appointed Daniela Peric as an Associate Director in Amsterdam. She will support client relationships and business development activities in Benelux and the Nordics. Before joining RBC BlueBay, Daniela spent almost a decade at BlackRock, most recently in the Institutional Client Business. She also held client servicing roles at Deutsche Bank and the Royal Bank of Scotland.

  • Multi-family office Stonehage Fleming has appointed Priyanka Hindocha as Head of its UK Family Office. She joined the AUM $7.5bn manager in 2019 from Deloitte and became a Partner in June 2024. With Hindocha’s appointment, six of Stonehage Fleming’s family office businesses are now led by women: Kim Brown in the Isle of Man; Gillian Ralston Jordan in Guernsey; Lorna Beckley in Geneva; Caroline Bauer in Zurich; and Jacqui Cheshire as Head of Switzerland.

GPs

  • Chicago-headquartered Antares Capital, which has $71bn of capital under management, has appointed Neil Siegel as Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). He will lead the firm’s marketing strategy, brand management, client engagement, and investor relations activities. Siegel has over 25 years of asset management experience, most recently as CMO of Macquarie Asset Management. Before that he was CMO at Neuberger Berman.

  • US real estate investment firm Asana Partners has promoted Clare Walsh to Managing Director. She joined Asana Partners in 2018, after working for EDENS and being a Senior Leasing Representative at Brookfield Properties Retail Group.

  • Virginia-based private equity firm Attain Capital, which invests in technology-enabled solutions and services to government and education clients, has expanded its leadership team with Senior Advisor Renee P. Wynn. She has over 30 years of experience, including as NASA’s Chief Information Officer, where she provided strategic direction and governance for global enterprise IT services, overseeing 11 CIOs, a $2bn IT portfolio, and the astronauts on the International Space Station.

  • Blue Wolf Capital Partners, a New York-based mid-market private equity firm specializing in the industrial and healthcare sectors, has hired Mark Carpenter as an Operating Partner, focused on industrial investments. He most recently worked as President and CEO of Dayton Superior, a provider of engineered accessories, chemicals, and concrete forming solutions.

  • Alternative asset manager Chicago Atlantic has appointed Kushal Kshirsagar as a Managing Director, Private Wealth Solutions. Kshirsagar will be responsible for bringing Chicago Atlantic’s private markets strategies to individual investors and their advisors. He previously worked in various roles at BlackRock, across the Multi-Asset Strategies, US Wealth Advisory, and iShares divisions.

  • US real estate private equity firm Citymark Capital has appointed Michael McRoberts to its Advisory Board, after he recently retired as Chairman of the Agency Lending Platform at PGIM Real Estate. Previously, McRoberts was Chairman of the Fannie Mae DUS Advisory Council and a member of the Multifamily Committee of the Mortgage Bankers Association, among other roles.

  • California-based Clearlake Capital Group has announced a raft of senior-level hires and promotions to bolster its Operational Improvement Approach (OPS) team. In the OPS team: Dave Beeston joins as Managing Director from Fenway Sports Group; Karina Sobieski as Managing Director from the Portfolio Human Capital team at Advent International; Madison Steinberg as Vice President of Tax from Ernst & Young; David Neiman as Data Scientist Manager from EasyPay Finance; Rishika Chandrupatla as Procurement Analyst from Kaiser Permanente; and Cassandra Kays as ESG Analyst from Westwood Greenway. Clearlake recently acquired European direct lending specialist MV Credit from Natixis, bringing its private credit AUM to $28bn

  • London-headquartered secondaries firm Clipway has appointed Benoit Verbrugghe as a Managing Partner. He joins from Ardian, where he spent 25 years and held various leadership positions, including Head of Ardian USA and member of the Executive Committee.

  • Nordic private equity firm Cubera has hired Pontus Elmer as Head of Capital Formation and Mikael Falck as a Partner on the investment team. Elmer spent 12 years at EQT, while Falck was previously at CapMan, Kåpan Pensioner, and Nordea. Falck will sit on the Investment Advisory Committee of the Cubera PE V fund, which will come to market this autumn. Cubera recently closed its tenth secondaries fund at its hard cap of $780mn for external capital.

  • Washington DC-based mid-market private equity firm Halifax Group has appointed Alex McNutt as an Operating Executive. He will help the firm evaluate investment opportunities, assist in the implementation of new strategies for select Halifax portfolio companies, and provide mentorship to executive teams. Most recently, McNutt was CEO of Pirtek Europe Group, and before that he was CEO of International Operations at Pronet Guvenlik, one of Turkey’s largest electronic security and monitoring companies.

  • Maryland-based expansion-stage investment firm Harmonic Growth Partners has hired Daniel Vernic to the Investment team as a Principal. He worked at Goldman Sachs for five years, most recently as an Associate, Global Banking & Markets, and previously was an MBA intern at Harmonic Growth Partners.

  • London-headquartered Inflexion has appointed Yuri Mikhalev as a Partner focused on technology investments, and Michael Baster as a Partner focused on business services investments. Inflexion has had 30 new hires so far this year, across its offices in the UK, Benelux, DACH, and Nordic regions.

  • Bahrain-based alternative assets fund manager Investcorp has announced that its Executive Committee has been expanded and that Executive Chairman Mohammed Alardhi will assume additional responsibilities previously undertaken by the Co-CEOs. Rishi Kapoor has been appointed Vice Chairman and Chief Investment Officer, while Hazem Ben-Gacem will leave the firm in November, but continue his role as a Vice Chairman of Investcorp Capital. Dave Tayeh will lead the newly organized Private Equity and Private Equity-like vertical; Herb Myers and Mike O’Brien will co-lead the Real Assets vertical; and Yusef Al-Yusef will lead the Global Distribution Platform.

  • Healthcare-focused venture capital firm Mérieux Equity Partners, the Lyon-based venture capital arm of Institut Mérieux, has hired Jean-Guillaume Lafay as Operating Partner in the Innovation Team. He will play a role in supporting portfolio companies in areas such as leadership/governance, HR, quality, traceability, and processes. He will remain a board member of biotech and healthcare companies Allogenica, Agatha Life, and Axoltis Pharma.

  • Global alternative asset manager Nuveen, which has $1.2tn of AUM, has appointed Ralph van Daalen as Head of Business Development Netherlands. He will focus on expanding private credit solutions across the region. He was previously Co-Head of Fiduciary Management Netherlands at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, and held leadership roles at Robeco, Towers Watson, and BMO Global Asset Management.

  • Private equity firm Paine Schwartz Partners has appointed Adam Klein as a Managing Director on its Investment Team. He was previously a Partner at Crestview Partners where he worked for 17 years and was also a member of the Investment Committee, Head of the Climate and Sustainability investment team, Co-head of the Energy vertical, and Chairman of the Responsible Investing Committee. Paine Schwartz specializes in sustainable food chain investing, with a focus on the global food and agribusiness sector, deploying capital in North America, Europe, and the APAC region.

  • Atlanta-based real estate firm Peachtree Group has promoted Steve Mackenzie to EVP of Hotel Operations in the Hospitality Management division. He joined in 2018 as Corporate Director of Operations, and was most recently an SVP, Operations. The firm currently has one real estate fund in market, Peachtree Strategic Opportunity Fund, which has a target size of $500mn, according to Preqin Pro.

  • Lower middle market-focused Star Mountain Capital has hired Peter Scaturro as a Senior Advisor. He was most recently a Partner in the Global Private Client Business of Goldman Sachs and was a member of the Business Practices Committee and the Investment Management Division Operating committee. Before that, he was CEO of US Trust, until its acquisition by Bank of America.

  • Tikehau Capital has appointed Christoph Rinnert as Head of Private Equity Germany, where he will oversee strategic development and management in the DACH region. In its Private Equity group, Tikehau invests in mid-market companies, focusing on digitalization, build-ups, and both domestic and international expansion in sectors including sustainability, energy transition, regenerative agriculture, cybersecurity, and aerospace and defense.

  • Mid-market private equity firm Vestar Capital Partners has promoted Caroline Ptacek to Vice President. She joined in 2022 and was previously a Senior Associate. Vestar has a focus on investing in Consumer, Business & Technology Services, and Healthcare sectors.
